25 April 2012
April 25, 2012 was a special day for the cast and crew of Devdan Show as well as the staff of Bali Nusa Dua Theatre. Everybody was busy since morning. This was because Miss World 2011, Miss Indonesia 2011, and some guests from Miss World and Miss Indonesia organizations were scheduled to visit the theatre and see a 15-minute showcase of the show.
At 13:30 the police-escorted VVIP guests arrived at BNDT. Miss World 2011, Ivian Sarcos; Miss Indonesia 2011, Astrid Elena; Ibu Liliana Tanoesoedibjo, Chairwoman of Miss Indonesia Organization; and Mrs Julia Morley, Chairwoman of Miss World Organization entered the theatre, followed by some journalists. Mr. Stephen R. Lomax, the General Manager of Bali Nusa Dua Theatre, welcomed them and gave a brief description of what Devdan is to the Venezuelan Ms. Sarcos and the other guests.
The show featured parts of the Sumatra Scene and a highlight from the Borneo Scene. As the whole theatre went dark, superb lighting illuminated the stage, and Sumatran dynamic rhythms filled the theatre, showcasing energetic movements of the dancers. From the eclectic Sumatra, Miss World and her company were taken to enchanting Borneo. Lights dimmed and alluring music set a magical ambiance where two dancers, male and female, danced gracefully and amorously in the air.
The 15 minutes showcase of Devdan Show successfully impressed the guests. "It was amazing, wasn't it?" said Mrs. Morley as she walked out of the theatre. "I'm looking forward to coming back again for the full-length show!" Miss World and Miss Indonesia expressed similar praises before they left for their next destination in Bali. As reported, Miss World, Ivian Sarcos and the representatives of Miss World Organization are in Indonesia in conjunction with Miss Indonesia 2012 Beauty Pageant that will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012. And good news for us, Mrs. Morley also said that Bali will be next to host Miss World 2013 Pageant!
